DTN COMMENTS:  Still just a few bids on the table in parts of Kansas at 
midday, but they are being passed, asking prices have not been renewed at 
this point. So far this week, Northern dressed business has been done at 
mostly $372, $8 lower, and Southern live business was done at mostly 
$235, $4 lower in Texas, and $5 lower in Kansas. A few deals were noted 
up to $236 in some areas. Trade volume totals look to be rather light, 
and more business may need to take place at some point today. Having said 
that, it is also very possible that trading is essentially completed for 
the week, as the looming strike at the JBS, Greeley, CO plant is said to 
start on Monday and slaughter totals will be reduced.

Beef cutouts are higher at midday (choice 397.25 +0.16, select 390.86 
+0.04) with very light box movement (21.47 lds of choice cuts, 2.03 lds 
of select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 4.55 lds of ground). Near the top 
of the noon hour live cattle futures are mixed, mostly modestly higher, 
while feeder issues are  moderately to sharply higher.
